Are you looking for your next casino job? Are you switching careers and planning to target a move to the casino industry? Having the right resume, targeted for the casino industry will be a priority for you to land the best job possible.
This blog will share 5 tips for you to customize your resume for the casino industry.
- Include All Casino Experience: Any work in the gambling or casino industry will be important to include. Make sure this is at the very top of your resume and in your cover letter. If possible, create a section called “Casino Experience” and place all relevant information there. For example, if you’ve ever ran any promotions like a Bet365 in play offer, then include that for sure.
- Be Clear about Which Casino Job You’re Interested in: Knowing which part of the casino you want to work in is important. Be sure to list out whether you want to work as a dealer, bartender, pit boss, IT or security and provide enough relevant examples of why you’re a fit for those roles.
- State all Qualities Relevant to the Industry: If you’re seeking a job as a table dealer, be sure to prove your knowledge and skills that would make you successful. One such skill would be proficiency with numbers. Being able to pay up quick is critical in the industry. Things like attention to detail and customer service are important in any job, and especially in the casino industry. If you don’t have experience in the industry, you can show your related skills from your previous positions.
- Show Education & Certifications: Have you gone through previous training in the industry? Make sure to list this out for them to view. Your college degree is also important to list.
- Avoid Typos & Grammatical Mistakes: Casinos will want to hire professions who are clean, organized, and pay attention to details. A messy resume will lead them to believe that’s not who you are. Have a friend review your resume for mistakes, typos, and any errors before sending. Do the same with your cover letter and be sure to correct all mistakes before emailing about the opening.
Also make sure to include plenty of white space in your resume. Employers don’t want to see all of the text close together when reviewing your resume.
