When you’re looking for a job, it seems like you’ll be happy once you find a position that is well-paying and that you enjoy. And yes, that is a good start, but there is something else you should think about, too. As much as we’d like it to be otherwise, the working world is changing. Soon, automation is going to come in, and as much as 40% of jobs could be lost during the transition. So as well as a job that you like, you might also want to think about a job that’ll exist in a few years. We take a look at some of these jobs below.

Helping Others
The world’s population is ageing, and they need people to look after them. If you love to help others, look at becoming a nurse or social worker; demand is expected to soar in the next decade, with thousands of jobs created.
Everything Tech
The tech world is pretty big now, but it’s only going to become bigger as emerging markets get aboard the internet train. Who knows what the world of technology will look like in ten years time? Receive information technology training, and you’ll be qualified for the many jobs that will be created in the future. There’s little chance that technology will cease to exist within the next fifty years!
Analysing Future Trends
There’s a lot of data in the world. Far too much to put into a number. But there’s a problem: seldom few have a clue how to interpret all the data that they have. If you’re adept at looking at large concepts and coming away with an insight into what you’re looking at, then consider becoming a data analyst. You’ll have more work than you know what to do with, especially as data isn’t going away anytime soon; corporations are just going to carry on collecting what they can until they know what it is they’re looking at.
Renewable Energy
The world is moving away from fossil fuel energies to renewable energy, albeit pretty slowly at the moment. Whether the oil companies like it or not, that will have to change over the next decade. If you can position yourself in the renewable energy sector, then you’ll be at the forefront of an exciting, important journey. It’ll help if you have a related science degree of course, but there’ll be plenty of positions built around the industry, too.
Cooking up a Storm
There’ll be a time when a robot will be able to prepare a meal. But when it comes to food, humans are about so much more than just sustenance; they want their food to be tasty, creative, an experience. And as hard as they try, it’s going to be a long time before a machine can come up with new dishes for us to try, so we’re going to need chefs for a while. If you have a position for food, you’ll find that you’re never out of work for too long.
