In the old days, salary and health insurance were the two primary workplace benefits. Now, companies are seeing a shift in what employees want. There’s less of a desire for cold, hard cash and more of a desire for perks and incentives that improve quality of life.
This infographic from Company Folders shows the top ten workplace incentives, who’s offering them, and why. Take a look at it and see how you can adapt these incentives to work for your own team. A few of our favorites are:
- Free gifts and services
This is a great perk because you can scale it to fit your company. Freebies can be as impressive as a concierge service to run employees’ errands, or as low-key as gift card. For instance, you can present employees with a Starbucks gift card inside a custom folder that has a thank-you note printed on it.
- Flexible hours
Flexible hours reduce absenteeism and turnover. You don’t have to go extremes like Weebly—whose employees work whenever they want—but letting your team come in late or take off early once in a while can be a great morale boost for them.
- Entertainment
It’s true that the office is a place for work, but it’s really hard to work if you’re bored or burned out. A little entertainment lets your team unwind and network with each other. You can do something small, like a monthly event, or go totally crazy and install multiple game rooms like Zynga.
